Shannon Bledsoe has over 15 years of experience designing, implementing and managing international maternal, reproductive health and HIV projects worldwide. She is skilled in using research methods and tools to evaluate product and service accessibility and barriers to use, and in developing evidence-based programmatic strategies to improve coverage and uptake. At Womancare Global, Ms. Bledsoe oversees business development and donor-funded programs that increase access to reproductive health products and services for women and improve health care provider performance. Prior to joining WCG, Ms. Bledsoe was Vice President of Global Programs at Venture Strategies Innovations, where she led the introduction of essential medicines for maternal health into low-resource settings in Africa and Asia. Ms. Bledsoe also spent ten years working for Population Services International (PSI) in various roles, where she provided technical and programmatic leadership to local social marketing agencies and PSI affiliates to increase the impact of their social marketing initiatives in HIV, family planning, and child and maternal health. Ms. Bledsoe spent more than seven years living and working in Cameroon and Haiti. She holds a Masters in Gender and International Development from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, San Diego.
